FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE

Baelz absorption cooling systems offer an effective and environmentally friendly way of cooling. The systems operate using excess heat from CHP plants, district and local heating networks, industrial facilities, or with heat from solar power systems or incinerators for biomass and waste and also provide a significant contribution to the use of renewable energy.

In addition, our systems only require a third of the cooling agents and solvents used by other manufacturer's systems. This is not only environmentally friendly, but also saves weight and costs. The areas of application of the system are diverse. They can, for example, be used for cooling of industrial facilities, buildings, machines or food.

In contrast to electrically powered compression chillers, with absorption cooling systems the cooling is generated by using heat. Even low drive temperatures of 55° C are sufficient to achieve cold water temperatures of as low as 5° C.

With water as a coolant and lithium bromide as a solvent, Baelz absorption cooling systems guarantee a cost-effective, environmentally friendly, energy-saving and efficient alternative to conventional cooling systems.

EFFICIENCY

In comparison to compression chillers, cost savings of up to 50% per kWh can be made by the use of an absorption chiller. In addition, there is a significant CO2-saving.

 

Practical example:

Practical example: In Aachen, two systems of the type "bumblebee" were installed in a supermarket for room cooling, which resulted in a saving of around 33% in CO2-emission due to the extremely low electrical consumption.
